Halloween 2014

HERE ARE SOME PICS OF OUR LEGENDARY HALLOWEEN THIS YEAR!
Laura and Chaz-bot at a jubilee Witch night festival celebration extravaganza event

Here's Aiden getting buried in corn by a bunch of his friends at Hee-Haws farms

The girls wanted in on the fun too so I couldn't resist the temptation to get in and help

Here's Chaz going down the slide

From the right angle and if I tell you what this is you can see that it's Laura taking Ruby down the slide

Carving the pumpkins we got at Hee-Haws

Ruby didn't like the idea of eating the pumpkin guts

The kids had to take a break to do some twerking

Ruby and Laura posing while Aiden focuses on his design

The final products, they did a fantastic job, well, the girls may have received a little help but they at least picked out the design

So this year Aiden and I decided to go as The Wet Bandits from Home Alone, we decided last Christmas so we've had plenty of time to procrastinate getting ready. Aiden was to be Harry and I would be Marv

Getting ready for our Halloween costumes, we had to shave Aiden's head the night before for the school Halloween parade, we could have used a bald cap but that would have been too fake!

Aiden apparently has no shame whatsoever because in spite of our council he didn't want his entire head shaved so we just did the top, he even went to school and church like this.

I think our costumes turned out awesome, I was surprised however at how many people actually didn't know who we were but I'd like to think that those who did were slightly amused.

Laura was afraid that if we used real tar on my feet I would walk in the house and make a mess so she got black paint to use instead

Crowbars up!

Laura and Charly went as matching pink Witches they were so cute!

It took like 10 tries to get this pic because Ruby was super distracted

You can hardly tell but Ruby was crazy excited!

The whole bunch of us

Harry! Don't move!!

Grammy and Poppy stopped in to see the kids too

After the street Trunk or Treat Aiden and Chaz talked me into taking them door to door Trick or Treating. Here they are taking a through inventory, categorizing and eliminating any undesirable treats. (which typically involved them trying to pawn the nasty candies off on their dad)

Here's Ruby the next day getting ready to have some candy for breakfast

Two wrongs don't make a right!

In this very special and important blog post I would like to discuss something near and dear to my heart. It involves something that I am very passionate about and feel very strongly about

You have probably heard the phrase "Two wrongs don't make a right" and up until this moment you have probably not fully understood this phrase, but that is what I want to talk about. "Two wrongs don't make a right" means that if you have one thing that is "wrong" or "bad" you cannot combine it with another thing that is also "wrong" or "bad" and have it turn out good. So this brings me to the specific item that I would like to present....

Oatmeal raisin cookies!!

Have you ever grabbed a delicious looking chocolate chip cookie and took a bite of it only to realize that it's an oatmeal raisin cookie, and then got in trouble for spitting it out all over your third cousins new Persian rug that she just purchased from Ikea?

First of all you have the first and primary bad tasting ingredient, Oatmeal, I know in your head you're saying "oatmeal is good, what are you talking about". But is oatmeal really good? Think about what must be done to oatmeal to make it suitable for consumption. In order for oatmeal to taste good you must first add a great amount of sugar, and/or fruit and any other number of ingredients to help improve its natural taste. If you don't believe me just eat some oatmeal made with just water and no sugar, you'll quickly change your mind.

Now that we've established the first "wrong" we can move on to the second "wrong"....Raisins! I don't need to go in to a lot of explaining as to why raisins don't taste good, they just don't, I mean what do you expect from a dried up grape. If you have a bowl of grapes that goes old you just throw them away, but if a company puts them in a box and sells them they must be good.

So you've got oatmeal, which by itself doesn't taste good, and you've got raisins which also don't taste good so why on earth would the two of these items taste good when combined? It's unfathomable!

So, in conclusion....oatmeal raisin cookies suck!
